The TON Foundation has unveiled Tolk, a cutting-edge programming language designed to streamline smart contract development on The Open Network (TON) blockchain. Replacing FunC, Tolk is tailored to TON's asynchronous actor model, featuring a modern syntax and delivering up to 40% in gas savings compared to its predecessor.

Anatoly Makosov, Core Developer at TON Core, praised the release as a transformative milestone. "Tolk combines clarity and power while maintaining on-chain efficiency," he stated. The upgrade includes enhanced tooling support, seamless migration paths, and compatibility with mainstream development environments, targeting DeFi, gaming, and social applications.

Despite the technical breakthrough, Toncoin (TON-USD) saw a 1.73% dip to $3.1696 amid market volatility. Resistance at $3.23 triggered sell-offs, though buying interest later resurfaced.
